November 3, 2025 — The City of Clovis is celebrating one of its own this month as General Services Director Amy Hance was recognized by the Marjaree Mason Center as one of the Top 10 Professional Women of 2025. The honor highlights her years of service, creativity, and leadership that have left a lasting mark on the Clovis community.
Hance has dedicated nearly two decades to the City of Clovis, steadily advancing from Office Assistant to her current role as General Services Director. She now oversees five key divisions that shape everyday life in the city—transit, recreation, senior services, facilities, and personnel—leading with an emphasis on compassion and connection.
Her commitment to the city’s senior community has been especially transformative. During the pandemic, when isolation posed a major challenge, Hance found ways to keep local seniors engaged and connected, turning the Clovis Senior Center parking lot into a lively hub for safe, socially distanced activities. That spirit of inclusion and care continues to define her work.
One of her proudest achievements is the development of the new Clovis Senior Activity Center, a 25,000-square-foot facility designed to serve as a welcoming space for the community. Since opening, it has become a vibrant gathering place for hundreds of seniors who visit daily for meals, exercise, classes, and social connection.
Hance’s innovative leadership also extends to public safety. Under her direction, Clovis Transit launched one of California’s first Narcan-on-bus programs, ensuring that life-saving medication is available wherever city buses travel. The initiative has since been adopted by transit agencies across the nation.
Her recognition by the Marjaree Mason Center honors not only her professional accomplishments but also her deep sense of community and care. Grounded by family and driven by service, Hance continues to exemplify the spirit of leadership that defines Clovis.
