Candlelight and carols fill Clovis churches this Christmas Eve

December 21, 2025 — Churches throughout Clovis will mark Christmas Eve with a variety of worship services inviting residents to reflect on the meaning of the season and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. From candlelit gatherings to family-friendly services filled with music and Scripture, local congregations are offering multiple opportunities for community members to attend.

New Hope Community Church, located at 4620 E. Nees Ave., will host a one-hour Christmas Eve service centered on Scripture, worship and quiet reflection. The service is designed to be family-friendly and welcoming to all, offering familiar carols and a message of hope. A livestream option will also be available at NewHopeChurch.net for those unable to attend in person.

Clovis EV Free Church, at 2377 Armstrong Ave., will hold a candlelit Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 5:30 p.m. The service will conclude the church’s Advent series, Seasons of Advent, with a focus on the theme of Light. The evening will include Scripture and worship reflecting on John 1:5, emphasizing Christ as the Light of the world.

Willow Avenue Mennonite Church, located at 2529 Willow Ave., will host a Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. The church describes the gathering as a special service filled with light and color, offering a meaningful way for families and individuals to observe the holiday.

Clovis Christian Church will offer two Christmas Eve services on Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. The church, located at 1701 Locan Ave., regularly offers multiple weekly services and ministries and invites the community to attend its Christmas Eve gatherings as a time of worship and celebration.

Peoples Church will host Christmas Eve candlelight gatherings at its Clovis campus, offering services at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Each one-hour service will feature Christmas carols, worship and a message centered on the birth of Jesus, with church leaders encouraging families to attend together.

The Hills Church will also hold Christmas Eve services at its Clovis locations, including the North Campus and Old Town Campus, with services taking place Dec. 23 and Dec. 24. These gatherings will include worship and reflection as part of the church’s Christmas observances.
