Clovis High Marching Band selected to perform in 2027 Rose Parade

October 13, 2025 – The Clovis High Golden Cougar Marching Band received the surprise of a lifetime Friday night when it was announced during halftime of the Cougars’ football game that the band and color guard have been selected to perform in the 2027 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena.

The announcement, revealed on the Lamonica Stadium videoboard, brought tears and cheers from students and staff who have spent years working toward the honor. The moment capped off an already exciting evening, as the football team followed the big reveal with a 45–7 victory over Clovis North, improving to 6–1 on the season.

The Clovis High marching band is one of only five high school bands across the United States chosen to participate in the 2027 parade. It marks the program’s return to Pasadena for the first time since 1986, a milestone achievement celebrating decades of musical excellence. The selection is seen as both recognition of the students’ dedication and a tribute to the enduring legacy of the school’s instrumental music program.

Preparations are already underway for the once-in-a-lifetime experience. The band will begin fundraising efforts to cover nearly $400,000 in expenses for the week-long celebration in Southern California. Community members wishing to support the trip can make tax-deductible donations through the Clovis High Instrumental Music Boosters or by visiting www.clovishighband.com.
