June 3, 2025 — It’s official: our very own Clovis has been recognized as one of the nation’s premier places to call home! Livability.com, a leading online resource dedicated to highlighting the best small and mid-sized cities, has ranked Clovis an impressive No. 22 on its 2025 list of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S.
This exciting news comes as no surprise to those of us who live, work, and play in this vibrant community. Livability.com evaluates cities based on a comprehensive set of factors including economy, education, health, housing, and overall quality of life. With a population estimated at 127,993 residents in 2024, Clovis fits perfectly within Livability’s criteria for cities between 75,000 and 500,000 people, with a median home value of $500,000 or less.
According to Livability.com, Clovis stands out as a “warm, welcoming community with highly rated schools, exceptional quality of life and a relatively low cost of living in the San Joaquin Valley.” This sentiment echoes what many of us already know and appreciate about our city.
A significant draw highlighted by the ranking is our beloved Old Town Clovis. Described as a “quaint yet thoroughly modern district,” Old Town offers an array of “eclectic dining spots, a hopping beer scene, vibrant nightlife and fabulous shopping.” From the lively melodies of “Cousin Mel” Mason, the “Mayor of Pollasky,” entertaining shoppers, to the diverse array of businesses supported by B.O.O.T., Â Old Town truly is the heart of our community.
Beyond the charm of Old Town, Clovis residents also benefit from excellent healthcare access. Livability.com noted an “impressive number of doctors” – 250 physicians per 100,000 residents – and the presence of Clovis Community Medical Center, which boasts a Level I Trauma Center. Coupled with our sunny climate and close proximity to natural wonders, it’s clear why Clovis is increasingly seen as a desirable place to settle down. The icing on top is our amazing Clovis Fest celebration featuring hot air balloon excitement as well as our time honored tradition of the Clovis Rodeo that has been going strong for 119 years!
This recent accolade from Livability.com reinforces Clovis’s established reputation. Earlier this year, Consumer Affairs named Clovis one of the best cities to move to in California, and Niche ranked us No. 1 on its list of the Best Places to Live in the Fresno Area for 2024.
For those considering a move or simply curious about what makes a city truly exceptional, Clovis continues to prove why it’s a top contender on the national stage. Our community spirit, educational excellence, and thriving local scene make Clovis a place where residents can genuinely thrive.
