May 5, 2025 — Clovis native Bryson DeChambeau secured his first tournament victory since his U.S. Open triumph last summer, carding a final round 6-under 66 at LIV Golf Korea on Sunday. The drama unfolded at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club as DeChambeau fended off a strong final-round push from fellow Crushers team member Charles Howell III.
Entering the final day with a four-stroke advantage, DeChambeau maintained his composure through the front nine. Howell mounted a significant challenge, posting a stellar 9-under 63. The two teammates were neck-and-neck until a misstep by Howell on the 16th hole opened the door for DeChambeau. The Clovis High alumnus seized the opportunity, sinking a lengthy birdie putt on the 17th to regain a two-shot lead heading to the final hole. Both players birdied the par-5 18th.
DeChambeau’s final score of 19-under 197 earned him the individual title and a $4 million prize. This marks his first LIV Golf League victory since September 2023 and his third overall.
Adding to the Crushers’ success, the team, captained by DeChambeau, also claimed the team championship, finishing nine shots ahead of Smash.
Looking ahead, DeChambeau is expected to join a contingent of LIV Golf players at the PGA Championship, held at Quail Hollow Club from May 15-18. He will be looking to improve on his runner-up finish at last year’s PGA Championship, where he finished behind Xander Schauffele.
