The Fresno County Department of Public Health reported new cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, May 1, bringing the county’s total to 615.
According to the Fresno County Department of Public Health, 247 of the cases were community spread or originated from an unknown source, 44 were travel related, 220 were spread by close contact and 53 are still under investigation.
Clovis cases is at 40. The City of Fresno has the most cases, with 320 total. Sanger has 42 cases, and Selma’s case counts rose to 38. Parlier is at 27 cases while Reedley and Mendota both have 26 cases each.
There has been one reported death from the virus since the last update, which brings the total to eight deaths in Fresno County.
A total of 104 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the outbreak began. Out of the total amount of infected, more than 221 have recovered. There are about 386 active cases, according to the FCDPH.
