    POW/MIA REMBERANCE DAY

    SEPT 22, 2018 11:00 AM CLOVIS VETERANS MEMORIAL DISTRICT

    PROGRAM ITEMS OF INTEREST:

    1. Jack Schwartz is oldest living POW and longest to be a prisoner of war in WWII.
    2. Robert Uyesaka will have his Congressional Gold Medal representing all the Missing In Action from WWII.
    3. All military branches represented in dress uniforms.
    4. One hour program with nearly 50 veterans and families involved.
    5. Marine Private Alva Jackson Cremean family to be recognized.  Private Cremean remains have been identified by DNA from family.  Private Creamean was on the USS Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.  Over 20 family members are attending with some from Arizona and Oregon.
    6. Speakers:  Captain Raidt of Army Recuiting Company, Paul Loeffler of Hometown Heroes, Vern Schmidt of EX-POWs and MC David McFerrin retired Airforce, 40 year veteran.
