September 21, 2025 — Extreme Off-Road & Repair, a business that started as a passion project in a home garage, recently celebrated a grand reopening to kick off a “new phase” for the company. Owner Dave Adams, who has been in the off-roading world since he was a kid, expressed his excitement about the event, noting that the crowd was “about twice as the size I expected it to be.”

The new location on Brookhaven Drive in Clovis is Adams’ “forever home,” a significant upgrade from his first shop which he quickly outgrew after opening in 2001. The new property boasts a 6,000-square-foot building, a huge showroom, and a full fabrication shop, complete with a new alignment rack and a CNC plasma cutter. Adams proudly states, “we have all the fun stuff. We have all the cool, cool vehicles that we work on.”

The grand reopening was a festive occasion, featuring a vehicle show and a unique RC rock crawling competition, the first of its kind in Clovis. Adams explained that this hobby is “a new hobby and it’s really taken off with a lot of people, young and, and elder.” He is already planning for the future, with a goal to expand the rock crawling course to “encompass the entire length of our property from north to south,” creating a 200-foot course.

Beyond the grand opening, the company’s website highlights its reputation as a trusted, fully licensed, and insured auto repair shop. They offer a wide range of services, from routine maintenance like brake repair and air conditioning to complex jobs like transmission replacements. The business prides itself on using only “high quality automotive parts, so you know the work will last.” For added customer assurance, they provide a six-month warranty on all labor and use a secure indoor storage facility to keep vehicles safe.

For Adams, the joy of the business is deeply personal. He describes off-roading as “a family-oriented hobby that allows us to get away from the city, away from the lights, away from the asphalt, and go to the mountains and enjoy life.” But the true reward comes from the customers. “The smiles on my customer’s face, that is what it’s all about,” Adams said. “It’s building the customer’s dream… and to see them smile and to see them, you know, enjoy what we’ve built for them.” The glowing reviews from customers who call Adams a “Jeep guru” and praise the shop for its “excellent work and great service” and “high work ethic” prove that this approach is a winning one.
