Effective immediately, Fresno County announced today the reopening of all county parks and campgrounds to the public.

“To protect the health and safety of the entire community and promote social distancing, parks and campgrounds will operate at approximately 50 percent capacity.” According to Fresno County’s announcement.

This means, park employees will be keeping track of vehicles going in and out of the parks, limiting how many people may enter. Social distancing signage will be placed throughout parks and campgrounds.

Camping areas will be sectioned off at every other space to create social distancing between visitors.

When it comes to group gatherings, county officials stated, “The public is asked to limit group gatherings to 10 people or less and wear face masks whenever social distancing cannot be maintained. Play structures and group picnic shelters within the parks and campgrounds will remain closed until further notice.”

Fresno County plans to keep the parks open during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Parks will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. through September 30.
