Businesses around Clovis are gearing up for a fun Halloween season with activities planned for young and old alike. Here are some events happening around Clovis:

Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center

Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center’s pet friendly pumpkin patch is now open through October 27. Located at 85 Temperance Ave, the pumpkin patch is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds from pumpkin sales benefit their adoptable pets.

  • Mini pumpkins — $2
  • Small pumpkins — $5
  • Medium pumpkins — $8
  • Specialty pumpkins — $10
  • Large pumpkins — $15

Clovis Botanical Gardens

Located at the corner of Clovis Ave and Alluvial Ave is holding their 2nd Annual Scarecrow Garden event Oct 17 through Nov 13 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.. Create and bring your scarecrow that best showcases your family, class, scout troop, organization or business. Entry costs $20 and proceeds benefit the gardens.

Pumpkin Art & Games at Railroad Park

Hosted by Fit4Mom, Pumpkin Art & Games at Railroad Park promises a fun time for children. Bring them to enjoy creating paper plate jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin ring toss and pumpkin golf. All supplies are provided and no fees are required.

Railroad Park is located at Peach and Alluvial Aves.

The Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club

The Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club invites everyone to their public range for the Halloween Fun Shoot on October 19. This event starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. 

The Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club is located at 15687 Auberry Rd in Clovis and the event is child friendly.

Clovis Recreation Center

Clovis Recreation Center’s Fall 2019 Pumpkin Decorating classes are registering now for $15. This one day class is for parents and their children with all supplies provided to decorate a ghoulish gourd. Games and activities will precede the decorating event.

Classes run started on October 21 and will go through October 28 at the Clovis Recreation Center located at the northeast corner of Clovis and Dakota Avenues.

Clovis Veterans Memorial District

The Clovis Veterans Memorial District Halloween Spooktacular is a family friendly indoor event free to the community. This event will take place October 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bring the kids out to the Veteran’s Memorial District at 808 4th St for trick or treating, ghastly games, creepy crafts and phantastic prizes. 

Canned food donations are welcome and will benefit the Salvation Army.

Swan Consulting

Swan Consulting his holding their 2nd Annual Halloween Extravaganza Haunted House on October 26 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. This free event will feature music, bounce houses, food trucks and trunk or treating. It is a sensory friendly experience specially geared toward the autism community and all are welcome.

Swan Consulting is located at 20 N. Dewitt Ave.

No Surrender Laser Tag

On Halloween night, No Surrender Laser Tag, located at the Sierra Vista Mall, will host their Halloween Bash. Starting at 6 p.m., show up in costume and enjoy their attractions for only $5. At 8 p.m., show off your costume in their costume contest.

Halloween Slice of Comedy

The Halloween Slice of Comedy is happening at Dicicco’s Italian Restaurant Oct 31 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.. Come prepared to laugh until you cry because a group of very funny comedians are appearing.

Headlining is Danny Minch from the Monsters of Comedy, Hollywood Improv and The Ice House along with Dave Apkarian, Greg “G” Williams and host Tom Smith.

Admission prices run from $15 to $250 (which includes a VIP table for eight guests, a giant pizza and a bottle of wine).

Dicicco’s Italian Restaurant is located at the corner of Clovis Ave and Fourth St.

Heather Jamieson-Brown: Heather Jamieson-Brown studied journalism at Fresno City College where she acted as a reporter for the award winning Fresno City Rampage, but took a break to be a caregiver for her ailing father who had Parkinson’s disease. She has three grown children and has lived in Clovis for 16 years. Heather has always loved reading books set in the American Old West, but rarely found any with strong female protagonists, thus, she wrote one. She is currently working as a reporter/journalist for the Clovis Roundup.
