April 24, 2025 — The roar of the crowd and the shimmer of a new crown marked a significant moment at the Clovis Rodeo as Karissa Rogers was announced as the 2025 Clovis Rodeo Queen. The arena erupted in applause as Rogers, beaming with pride, took her celebratory ride, signaling the start of her year representing the beloved Clovis tradition.
The announcement came with heartfelt words of farewell from the 2024 Clovis Rodeo Queen, Rachel Lancaster. In a moving letter, Lancaster reflected on her year of service, highlighting the profound impact of the role. “Being selected to represent the Clovis Rodeo is up there towards the top,” she wrote, emphasizing the honor she felt in representing the community she calls family.
Lancaster’s reign was marked by a strong commitment to local engagement. Her activities ranged from reading to students during rodeo week to visiting SpiritHorse Connections in Kingsburg and volunteering with the Clovis Marine Corp League for their annual Toys 4 Tots drive. A particularly proud moment for Lancaster was her participation in California Ag Day in Sacramento, where she represented the Clovis area alongside Miss Rodeo California 2025.
“I loved hearing a majority of the key speakers be from the Fresno area,” Lancaster shared, underscoring her deep connection to the region.
As Lancaster’s memorable year concludes, she extended heartfelt gratitude to the Clovis Rodeo Association, the Marine Corp League #014, the families who entrusted her with their horses, the sponsors, Sandy Western for her guidance, and especially her parents for their unwavering support.
Now, the spotlight turns to Karissa Rogers, who will carry the mantle of Clovis Rodeo Queen throughout 2025. The legacy of accomplished women who have held this title since 1916, a list that includes local figures and even Hollywood actress Reno Browne, now welcomes a new name. The community eagerly anticipates the energy and dedication Karissa Rogers will bring as she embarks on her own journey representing the spirit of the Clovis Rodeo.
