July 5, 2025 — Thousands gathered at Lamonica Stadium on the evening of July 4 to celebrate Freedom Fest 2025, Clovis’s signature Independence Day event presented by the Clovis Kiwanis Club. With patriotic pride, picnic baskets, and lawn chairs in tow, families and friends filled the stadium grounds well before sunset to claim their spots for an evening of festivities.

Gates opened at 5:00 p.m., and by nightfall, the field and grandstands were a sea of red, white, and blue. Children raced across the grass waving glow sticks, while adults set up folding chairs and easy-ups, enjoying the relaxed, open-seating format. The atmosphere was casual and celebratory, with guests encouraged to bring coolers, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks. While outside food was welcome, glass containers, alcohol, fireworks, and pets (except service animals) were not permitted.

The celebration culminated at 9:00 p.m. with a dazzling fireworks display that lit up the Clovis sky. Each burst was met with applause and cheers, as families looked upward in appreciation of both the show and the shared experience it offered.

Tickets for the event were sold in advance at the Clovis branch of Valley First Credit Union and were also available at the stadium on the day of the event. With general admission priced at just $5 and free entry for children five and under, the event remained accessible to the entire community.

This annual celebration wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of the Clovis Kiwanis Club, the organization behind the planning and execution of Freedom Fest. From coordinating logistics and securing permits to organizing vendors and volunteers, the Kiwanis Club spent months preparing for the event. Their commitment to creating a safe, fun, and family-friendly environment was evident in every detail—from the seamless entry process to the well-orchestrated fireworks show that capped off the night. As a longtime fixture in the Clovis community, the Kiwanis Club continues to uphold its mission of service and civic engagement through events like this one, which bring people together and foster hometown pride.

Freedom Fest is more than just fireworks—it’s a reflection of Clovis pride, made possible through the generous support of local sponsors. This year’s event was backed by a variety of community partners, including Cart Addictions, 500 Club Bar and Grill, Hedricks Chevrolet, Central Valley Trailer Repair, Valley Transport Refrigeration, Rodeo Coffee Shop, Clovis Veterans Memorial District, The Clovis Rodeo Association, Dutch Bros Coffee, Wawona Foods, Fresno Mazda, and Fresno Mitsubishi.

The wide, grassy areas of Lamonica Stadium offered plenty of room for open seating, and attendees took advantage of the family-friendly rules and festive environment. From shaded tents to coolers filled with soda and sandwiches, the crowd created a laid-back picnic atmosphere while waiting for the show to begin.

As the final firework faded and the crowd slowly filtered out, the lingering glow wasn’t just from the pyrotechnics overhead—but from the collective feeling of community connection. With strong attendance, safe celebration, and overwhelming support from local businesses, Freedom Fest 2025 once again proved why it remains one of Clovis’s most anticipated annual events.

Plans are already underway for next year’s celebration, with sponsorship opportunities available for businesses looking to be part of this growing tradition. Organizers encourage interested parties to contact Bruce Wilson at (559) 363-6318 to learn more.

Freedom Fest continues to be a vibrant reminder of Clovis’s shared values: patriotism, family, and community spirit.
