PG&E is working to restore power to neighborhoods around Clovis High School after a power outage left 1,819 homes without power.
According to PG&E’s website, the outage affected homes between Bullard and Gettysburg avenues in the north and south and Burgan and McKelvy Avenues in the west and east.
Crews are currently working to restore power. A PG&E representative said the outage began at around 2:44 p.m. Most of the homes already had their power restored at press time, leaving 119 still without power. The utility hopes to restore power to those homes by 8 p.m.
The representative said an an initial investigation revealed the outage was caused by failed equipment.
