Rotary’s 2nd Annual BBQ & Brew

October 7, 2023 – Clovis Rotary & Fresno Airport District Rotary held their 2nd Annual BBQ & Brew on Saturday afternoon at P-R Farms.

According to their website, “Clovis Rotary is a membership organization that is made up of a diverse group of individuals. Our members have different  gender, education, religion, age, work careers. etc. but they share a common desire to provide service to our community,

We meet regularly, form friendships, and through that, we’re able to get things done. Clovis Rotary has a primary focus on Youth and Community Service.

Throughout this website you will get a sense of the priorities and achievements of this very active Rotary Club.”

The event beer fest and “hoedown at the shed’, complete with live music by John Pemberton.

There were games, raffles, a dessert auction, and a display by Sportsman’s Warehouse. Food was provided by Maw N’ Paw BBQ.

The event was strictly for people 21 years and older. Some of the local breweries present included: House of Pendragon, South of Shaw, Mad Duck, Two Ravens, Summer Fox, and Worthogs Homebrew Club.

Attendees were given an adorable miniature tasting mug to sample the different beers.

They also had a variety of games available for attendees to play: cornhole, “ax throwing”, beer pong, plinko, yahtzee, and horseshoes.

One of the main beneficiaries of the event is the Rotary’s “Seniors Helping Seniors” program.

The Clovis Rotary Club will have tables set up near House of JuJu in Old Town Clovis for the Two Cities Marathon on Sunday, November 5th.

Their high school club, Interacts Clubs will be there. One table will have hydration for the runners, and another table with be the “cheering” section.

During Christmas time, they have a large food box giveaway that is invite-only. In collaboration with the Clovis Police Department, Clovis Unified School District, and Salvation Army—they will pack and give away 500 boxes of food.
