August 6, 2025 — The California 9/11 Memorial is seeking volunteers to help with its annual tradition of honoring the victims and first responders of the September 11th attacks. The memorial needs more than 400 American flags to be hung in and around its grounds.

Community members, students needing service hours, and anyone who wants to show their support are invited to help “hand old glory.” The first volunteer event is scheduled for Saturday, August 30th, at 7:30 a.m. at the California 9/11 Memorial, located at 3485 Never Forget Lane in Clovis. A second volunteer day will be held on Saturday, September 13th, also at 7:30 a.m., for folding the flags after the memorial’s ceremonies have concluded.

Organizers stressed that the community’s support is vital to making the annual tribute a success. Those interested in volunteering can register by scanning the QR code in the original announcement or by clicking the “Volunteer Now” button on the memorial’s website.

Thank you for supporting the California 9/11 Memorial and helping to ensure that we never forget.
