Runners gather at the starting line during the Two Cities Marathon.

November 3, 2025 — The energy was high across Fresno and Clovis this weekend as thousands of runners participated in the 17th annual Two Cities Marathon. The event once again united athletes of all levels, from first-time participants to seasoned marathoners, all sharing one goal — reaching the finish line.

The race featured four distances — the 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon — offering opportunities for runners and walkers alike to take part in one of the Central Valley’s most anticipated athletic events. Spectators lined the route, cheering and playing music, creating an encouraging atmosphere for participants as they made their way through the scenic course connecting the two cities.

Organized by Fleet Feet and local running advocate Aaron Samansky, the marathon has grown into a signature regional event that draws competitors from across the country and beyond. The race not only highlights the strong running community in the Valley but also brings visitors who support local businesses throughout the weekend.

This year’s women’s champion, Central Valley native Kylie Mantz, captured the top spot in her debut marathon, marking an impressive start to her long-distance running career. Ideal weather conditions contributed to a smooth race day, with cool morning temperatures setting the tone for strong performances across all divisions.

For many, the event represented more than just a race — it was a celebration of perseverance, community, and support. As runners crossed the finish line, emotions ran high, reflecting months of preparation and the encouragement of family, friends, and volunteers who made the day a success.

The Two Cities Marathon once again showcased the resilience and spirit of the Central Valley, proving that whether running for a personal goal or simply for the joy of the experience, the journey itself is what makes the event unforgettable.
