July 22, 2025 – A significant new chapter in local historical interpretation has arrived in Clovis with the grand opening of the “WWII in the Pacific” exhibit at the Community Heritage Center. This substantial update redefines nearly half of the center’s space, marking its most ambitious transformation since opening in 2021.

This isn’t merely a display of relics; it’s a meticulously curated experience designed to immerse visitors in the intricate story of the Pacific Theater during World War II. The exhibit skillfully interweaves global events with the intimate narratives of our own Central Valley community. Here, you’ll discover a compelling collection of wartime artifacts, personal correspondence, and period photographs. These elements collectively illuminate the profound connections between local service members, their families, and the larger conflict, offering a powerful reflection on Clovis’s historical contributions.

The impact of the exhibit was clear even before its public debut. Yesterday, the Community Heritage Center extended an exclusive preview to media representatives and, notably, the Clovis Veterans Memorial District’s Monday Veterans Class. Their early engagement with the displays, marked by shared recollections and personal anecdotes, underscored the exhibit’s resonance and authenticity.

For anyone seeking a deeper understanding of this pivotal period, a connection to our shared heritage, or a meaningful educational outing, this exhibit provides a compelling destination. Its purpose extends beyond mere documentation; it seeks to preserve significant moments, enlighten subsequent generations, and honor the enduring commitment to service that defines our veterans and our community.

The Community Heritage Center is located at 320 Veterans Parkway, Clovis, CA 93612. They are open Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We invite you to experience this thoughtfully crafted addition to our community’s cultural landscape.
