Clovis Police Department conduct DUI saturation patrol on Labor Day Weekend

September 1, 2025 — The Clovis Police Department held a DUI saturation detail on Saturday, August 30, as part of its efforts to ensure safe roads during the busy Labor Day weekend. Officers patrolled city streets, actively looking for drivers who were impaired by alcohol or drugs.

The operation, which was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), resulted in a number of citations and arrests.

The official results of the detail are as follows:

  • 47 Traffic Stops were conducted.
  • 19 citations were issued for speeding.
  • 1 arrest was made for driving under the influence (DUI).
  • 1 person was arrested for reckless driving.
  • 3 citations were issued for driver’s license violations.
  • 5 vehicles were towed.

The Clovis Police Department reminds the public that if they see a suspected DUI or reckless driver, they should call 911 immediately. The department continues to encourage safe driving habits, especially during holiday weekends when traffic volume and travel are higher.
