COVID-19: City of Clovis Updates Essential and Non-Essential Business list

As of March 23, the City of Clovis COVID-19 News Update has updated the list of Essential and Non-Essential businesses. Below is the list provided by the state considered “Essential”:

  • Gas stations
  • Pharmacies
  • Food: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants
  • Banks
  • Laundromats/laundry services
  • Federal critical infrastructure sectors (sectors) and support of those
  • Guidance on these sectors can be found HERE
  • Critical government services
  • Schools (may be distance learning)
  • Childcare (must comply with guidance on social distancing/cleaning procedures)
  • Construction, including housing construction

The list below are businesses that are deemed “Non-Essential” and should not operate until the State’s stay at home order is lifted. If a business is not listed under the “Non-Essential” list below then it is exempt:

  • Archery ranges
  • Arenas
  • Art galleries/studios
  • Banquet halls
  • Barbers
  • Bars
  • Bookstores
  • Botanical gardens
  • Bowling alleys
  • Casinos and cardrooms
  • Clothing stores
  • Dance halls
  • Dances
  • Day spas
  • Fitness Centers
  • Gymnasiums
  • Hair salons
  • Health clubs
  • Historical sites
  • Industrial and manufacturing — Except for operations supporting/part of federal critical infrastructure sectors and materials needed for construction including housing construction.

  • Liquor stores (grocery and convenience stores permitted)

  • Motorcycle clubs
  • Movie theaters
  • Museums
  • Music events
