As of March 23, the City of Clovis COVID-19 News Update has updated the list of Essential and Non-Essential businesses. Below is the list provided by the state considered “Essential”:
- Gas stations
- Pharmacies
- Food: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, take-out and delivery restaurants
- Banks
- Laundromats/laundry services
- Federal critical infrastructure sectors (sectors) and support of those
- Guidance on these sectors can be found HERE
- Critical government services
- Schools (may be distance learning)
- Childcare (must comply with guidance on social distancing/cleaning procedures)
- Construction, including housing construction
The list below are businesses that are deemed “Non-Essential” and should not operate until the State’s stay at home order is lifted. If a business is not listed under the “Non-Essential” list below then it is exempt:

- Archery ranges
- Arenas
- Art galleries/studios
- Banquet halls
- Barbers
- Bars
- Bookstores
- Botanical gardens
- Bowling alleys
- Casinos and cardrooms
- Clothing stores
- Dance halls
- Dances

- Historical sites
- Industrial and manufacturing — Except for operations supporting/part of federal critical infrastructure sectors and materials needed for construction including housing construction.
