Fresno Dixieland Society will be sponsoring the 35th Annual Sounds of Mardi Gras Festival on February 7-8-9-10. The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Fresno. Over 20 live bands will perform a variety of music styles which include: Dixieland, Swing, Zydeco, Rockabilly, Doo Wop and Ragtime.
Dancers can enjoy 5 dance floors in 4 venues. The music attracts dancers of all ages dancing a multitude of styles which include: East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, Waltz, Cha Cha and Zydeco. Friday night will be a Prom Swing Dance with a Prom King and Queen taking you back to when we were all much younger. The festival is a Mardi Gras Party for the whole family and includes three indoor parades. You can enjoy a New Orleans Style Second Line Parade with over 100 parasols and the fun of throwing or catching festival beads.
A Roaring 20’s Theme Parade with everyone encouraged to dress in their very best Flapper Dresses and Dandy Suits is a most elegant event.
