December 31, 2025 — Fresno County Fire crews quickly contained a vehicle fire Tuesday that broke out in front of a residence in Clovis, preventing what could have been a far more devastating situation for the homeowners.
Firefighters responded to the area near Shaw and McCall avenues, where they found a pickup truck fully engulfed in flames parked in front of the home. Crews were able to knock down the fire before it spread to the residence or nearby structures.
While no injuries were reported, the incident comes at a particularly difficult time of year. Just days after Christmas and on the cusp of the New Year, a sudden fire can add stress and uncertainty for families already navigating a busy and often emotional season.
Fire officials remained on scene to ensure the area was safe and to begin determining the cause of the fire. The incident also serves as a reminder of the importance of fire prevention and quick reporting, especially in residential neighborhoods where a single vehicle fire can rapidly escalate.
Thanks to the fast response of firefighters, the damage was limited to the vehicle, and the home and its occupants were spared from further loss.
