July 8, 2025 — Clovis residents have a critical opportunity to weigh in on the future of local transportation funding. The Fresno Council of Governments (Fresno COG) is hosting a series of Measure C Community Workshops, with the first taking place right here in Clovis on Tuesday, July 15th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Clovis Transit Center, located at 785 3rd St.

Measure C, a half-cent sales tax, has been a quiet engine behind significant improvements to Clovis roads, public transit, and various transportation projects for years. Now, as the renewal of this vital funding mechanism approaches, the Fresno COG is reaching out to the community, inviting residents to understand the impact of their tax dollars and, more importantly, to voice their priorities for how these funds should be spent in the coming years.

Clovis Mayor and Fresno COG Policy Board Member Vong Mouanoutoua emphasized the importance of community participation. “Measure C funding has significantly impacted Clovis roads, transit, and transportation over the years,” Mayor Mouanoutoua stated. “We want our residents to understand how their tax dollars are working and to tell us how they want to see these funds spent going forward. These workshops are an important opportunity for community members to share their priorities for transportation improvements in Clovis and the greater Fresno County region. Join us as we work together to build a Draft Measure C Renewal Expenditure Plan for Fresno County.”

These in-person workshops are designed to be accessible and informative, offering dinner, refreshments, and on-site language interpretation services. For families, a kids’ activities table will also be available, ensuring that everyone can participate.

For those unable to attend the Clovis event, two other opportunities are available:

  • Wednesday, July 16th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Teague Community Resource Center, 4718 N. Polk Ave, Fresno CA 93722.
  • A Virtual Measure C Community Workshop on Wednesday, July 23rd, at 5:00 p.m. This online session will include a presentation, a community question and answer segment, and language translation. You can access the Zoom link at http://MeasureC2026.com/Webinar.
