October 11, 2025 — The sound of cheerful applause filled the air Thursday afternoon as a bright red ribbon was cut outside Mind Divers’ new location at 180 W. Bullard Ave., marking a new chapter for one of the Valley’s fastest-growing mental health organizations.

Founder and CEO, PhD, Clinical Psychologist, Debra Winegarden stood at the center of it all, beaming with pride as guests toured the beautifully designed facility, enjoyed complimentary appetizers, and celebrated the center’s expansion.

“This move has been a long time coming,” said Dr. Winegarden, a clinical psychologist and U.S. Army veteran. “We outgrew our old space years ago, and it took a lot of patience and negotiation to make this new home happen—but it was worth it. I really love this location.”

Mind Divers originally opened in 2012 under Winegarden’s name before evolving into Achievements Unlimited in 2016. The business officially became Mind Divers after her partner, Rob Fox of Party Works, encouraged her to choose a name that better reflected her passion for both psychology and scuba diving—a fitting metaphor for exploring the depths of the mind.

Today, Mind Divers employs more than 120 staff members across its locations, with over 80 licensed and training therapists. Twenty of those providers now call the new Clovis office home.

The center offers a wide range of services including psychotherapy, psychiatry, and extended care management—social services designed to support individuals and families throughout the San Joaquin Valley, from Bakersfield to Madera.

“What really sets us apart is accessibility,” Winegarden said. “We take nearly every insurance, including Medi-Cal, and we try to get people scheduled as quickly as possible. You don’t need a referral or authorization—just call and come in.”

As a veteran herself, Winegarden has made it a priority to ensure that Clovis’ large veteran population feels welcome and supported. “When I meet with veterans, they forget I’m their doctor within five minutes—we talk like old military buddies,” she said. “We take Tricare and work with many active-duty and retired service members throughout our clinics.”

Beyond traditional mental health care, Mind Divers is expanding its innovative programs. Former Green Bay Packers player Kevin Jordan now leads a new sports psychology program aimed at helping athletes connect performance with mental wellness. The clinic also recently added a state-of-the-art TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) machine—an alternative treatment for anxiety and depression for those seeking options beyond medication.

Winegarden says her vision for Mind Divers is rooted in both inclusivity and atmosphere. “We appeal to everyone—from professionals to people with fewer opportunities—and we make sure our clinics never feel cold or clinical. Each space has good lighting, plants, vintage décor, and artwork. It’s calming, creative, and healing.”

From a modest office on Pulaski and First to one of the largest mental health organizations in the San Joaquin Valley, Mind Divers’ growth reflects a larger cultural shift in how communities view mental health.

“The wonderful thing that’s happened since COVID is that mental health has really lost its stigma,” Winegarden said. “Almost everyone has a therapist now, and that’s a good thing. Therapy isn’t just for when something’s wrong—it can help you grow, create, and live better.”

With plans to expand north toward Modesto and south toward San Bernardino, Mind Divers continues to dive deeper into its mission: making quality mental health care accessible to everyone, one community at a time.
