December 18, 2025 — Inside Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center, the holidays arrive a little differently. Instead of stockings and wrapped presents, the season is marked by donated toys, warm bedding, and the quiet hope that each animal will soon find a home of its own.
To help make the season more meaningful for pets still waiting to be adopted, Miss Winkles is inviting the Clovis community to take part in its Holiday Giving campaign, which offers several ways for residents to support animals during one of the busiest—and loneliest—times of year for shelters.
One of the most popular holiday traditions at the center is the Furry Angel Tree, where donors can select a specific pet to sponsor by purchasing items from that animal’s wish list. Community members may choose an ornament in person at the shelter or browse the virtual tree online. Each list includes suggested items valued at about $30, though donors are encouraged to personalize gifts if they wish. Items can be dropped off at the shelter or shipped directly from a retailer.
The campaign also includes an Honor a Loved One donation option for those looking to give a gift with lasting meaning. Donations made in someone’s name are acknowledged with a mailed card, and gifts of $100 or more are permanently recognized with an engraved brick placed at the front of the facility.
Those who prefer to give directly can contribute to the Holiday Giving fund, which supports daily care and enrichment for the animals. Donations of more than $50 include a custom acrylic ornament as a token of appreciation from the shelter.
As the holidays draw near, Miss Winkles encourages residents to consider including homeless pets in their seasonal generosity, helping ensure every animal feels remembered and cared for during the season of giving.
