July 17, 2025 – Clovis officially welcomed its newest Grocery Outlet Bargain Market today, July 17th, with a bustling grand opening celebration that drew enthusiastic shoppers to the 2990 E. Nees Ave. location. The event marked a significant addition to the community, promising substantial savings on popular brands and a strong commitment to local initiatives.

The day kicked off bright and early at 7 a.m. with a line of eager customers hoping to snag one of the coveted “Bliss Buck” gift cards, ranging from $5 to $500, awarded to the first 100 shoppers. Many also took home free reusable bags, a practical souvenir from the festive opening.

A special ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony was held at 10 a.m., with local dignitaries and community members gathering to commemorate the new store. Luis and Cristina Ramirez, the independent owners and operators of this new Grocery Outlet, were at the forefront, embodying the unique local ownership model that defines the Grocery Outlet brand.

Beyond the initial excitement for shoppers, the grand opening also highlighted Grocery Outlet’s dedication to the community. A generous $1,000 donation was presented to both Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central California and the Buchanan High School Foundation, demonstrating the store’s immediate positive impact on local organizations.

Shoppers explored the 17,272 square-foot space, formerly a Rite Aid, discovering the “treasure hunt” experience that Grocery Outlet is known for. The store’s shelves were filled with an ever-changing variety of brand-name groceries, from fresh produce and meats to natural and organic NOSH items, all offered at extreme value prices. This business model, which dates back to Jim Read’s first store in 1946, allows independent operators to source surplus inventory and product overruns, passing significant savings directly to customers.

The successful grand opening of the new Grocery Outlet in Clovis is a clear win for local residents, providing not only an affordable shopping option but also contributing to the vibrant spirit and economic well-being of the community. Customers can still enter to win $1,000 in free groceries until August 15.
