July 7, 2025 — It has been four long months since 17-year-old Hazel Morales Tapia disappeared from Fresno, California, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is making an urgent plea to the public for assistance in locating her.

Hazel, who was 16 at the time of her disappearance on March 1, 2025, is described as 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. Authorities believe that Hazel may still be in the local or surrounding areas of Fresno.

The NCMEC, working closely with the Fresno Police Department, is asking anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. Every lead could be crucial in bringing Hazel home safely.

“We are deeply concerned for Hazel’s safety and well-being,” stated Halley B. Gillespie, Associate Producer for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. “Four months is a significant amount of time, and we urge everyone in the community to keep an eye out for Hazel and to share any information they might have with law enforcement.”

A photo of Hazel has been widely circulated by NCMEC in hopes that someone will recognize her.
